Position Title: Sales Account Manager/Business Development - Financial Services
Reporting to: Vice President of Operations
Looking for an intelligent, innovative and experienced individual in data telecommunications to join our growing team and represent our Network Services Division in New York City. This results-oriented person will be responsible for setting up new Financial Services/Wall Street accounts selling our Network Services which include data circuits from T1s to OC48s, MPLS and Ethernet Private Lines along with specialty private lines such as ARDs, Hoot'n'Hollers and Forked Ring Downs. Candidate's telecom experience should include but not be limited to the services listed above. VoIP knowledge is also desirable.
Position Overview:
- Open new Accounts in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut region both directly and through various recruitment activities.
- Support selected existing financial clients by including the introduction of new technology solutions to grow our current relationships and to increase our revenue and profitability.
- Establish new and manage existing relationships with value-added communication and networking vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare a sales plan to include ways to identify, target and penetrate new accounts.
- Develop account plans for existing clients identifying ways to not only maintain current business levels but also areas where there are growth opportunities (The growth segment should include new/additional services and/or opportunities at other client locations or divisions).
- Develop consultative relationships with clients, understanding their business and strategic plans, analyzing their needs and then design and present an American Telesis solution to fit their environment. (This will many times include technical solutions for complex assignments.)
- Client relationships should be developed across the entire customer business, not just one contact. (President/Owner, Management, Purchasing, etc.)
- Prepare weekly updates to your client profiles including opportunities, funnel activity, revenue projections and anticipated timelines.
- Reach a level of competency so you can provide not only a sales presentation to your clients, but also demonstrations, basic customer training, if needed, and be available throughout the solution delivery and implementation.
- Be the primary point of contact for your client base.
- Prepare successful responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Develop a tracking method to re-visit lost opportunities.
- Generate revenue equal to or greater than assigned quota.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years sales and account management experience in Financial Services and Investment Banking Industries or experience in the high-technology, telecommunications, networking and/or computer industry
- Ability to quickly learn and sell telecommunication related concepts/solutions
- Experience in developing new accounts and customer relationships
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Results-oriented, results-driven individual
- Exceptional verbal and written skills
- Time Management skills a must to handle multiple projects at one time.
